Comparison of Related COMS


CMOS sensor will become the key components in cheap cameras in the future for the benefit of faster, lower cost and large-scale features in production. Currently, through the continuous efforts of companies, kinds of new high technologies of CMOS come in the market. These technology, including high dynamic range CMOS, eliminates the needs of shutter, aperture, automatic gain control and gamma correction, which make CMOS is closer to the CCD imaging quality. In addition, as innate plasticity of CMOS sensor, it can be made to high pixel with reasonable costs. Compare with CMOS, CCD sensor is still stagnant in technology. As core component of digital cameras, CMOS have been gradually replaced CCD sensor in trend. CMOS seems to become the mainstream sensor in the future.

COMS Advantage:
COMS logic circuit has the following advantages compared to other series of logic:
1. Allow wide range of supply voltage to conveniently design power circuit;
2. Logic swing makes it have good capacity of anti-interference in circuit;
3. Low static power;
4. Fence structure makes input resistance of CMOS very strong so that the CMOS driven similar logic gate capacity much stronger than the other series;

Development of CMOS is later than TTL, but its higher superiority gradually replaced on many occasions. Compare them performance, the following differences between CMOS and TTL sensor: 
1. CMOS consist of FET, TTL consist of bipolar transistors;
2. CMOS has a relatively large range of logic level (5 ~ 15V), TTL can only work under 5V;
3. CMOS has a big difference of high low-level output voltage, so it has strong anti-interference, TTL is just the opposite.
4. CMOS power consumption is lower, TTL power consumption is higher (1 ~~ 5mA / door)
5. CMOS operating frequency is slightly lower than TTL, but the high-speed CMOS is about equal with TTL
