Tell Differences of Cameras Formats

When you buy a camera, you may puzzle of pixels, formats or quality of images, such as previous MPEG-4, M-JPEG and latest H.264 camera. Many Cameras with H.264 codec are supplied on Mystore365. So now let’s sort your thoughts out of mess. H.264, M-JPEG and MPEG-4 three compression modes can all display and record up to 30 FPS. Despite the same, they also have differences. Here mainly discuss about H.264 compression mode.

MPEG-4 uses techniques similar to M-JPEG, as far as putting pictures in a sequence. M-JPEG is the compilation of separately compressed JPEGs in a sequence, thus creating a video. Both of them have their own features. However, M-JPEG has many shortages. Due to the high resolution of the images, they take up a lot of space on the HDD, although the image size can be restricted in the settings. Besides, it requires much more bandwidth to transmit the photos. Additionally, sound synchronization is not supported. About MPEG-4, it has lower quality than M-JPEG. It supports a less number of cameras and the license makes a fee for viewers as possible.

What is H.264? It is also named as AVC, which supports AV syncing and it is designed for real-time videos. Now, H.264 is also applied to Mega Pixels IP Security Camera and video cameras. Like MPEG-4, H.264 saves the picture and uses the background for the next few frames, and just records the movement, but with more flexibility. Nevertheless, H.264 offers higher compression rates, and requires much less storage space than MPEG-4 and M-JPEG. It supports AV syncing and it is designed for real-time videos. It compresses the images and reduces the space it takes on the HDD, while preserving the crispness and quality of the image. Some cons of H.264 are low robustness, so sometimes might get a little delayed. But it would not affect views very much.
